Ruth Yi is the Field Director at The Mellman Group. She is a member of the fielding team and works directly with the Vice President of Operations. She is responsible for providing research and fielding support, as well as overseeing and scheduling all domestic and international projects. Ruth works closely with the staff and external teams to supervise and ensure the accuracy of The Mellman Group’s qualitative and quantitative research studies. Ruth serves as a main point of contact for focus group studies and dial tests; she coordinates logistics and monitors recruiting activities. Additionally, Ruth handles some administrative and budgetary duties, which includes compiling bids, submitting invoices, and helping with pricing inquiries.
Before joining The Mellman Group, Ruth spent two years working at The Advisory Board Company, a healthcare technology and consulting firm in Washington D.C. She first served as marketing associate for the company’s international division, Advisory Board International. She contributed in sharing the company’s best practices and offerings to hospitals and health systems in the U.K., Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, and across Scandinavia. Ruth and her team were able to achieve an unprecedented goal for Advisory Board International at that time: introducing the first Finnish hospital member into the international cohort. Midway through her tenure, she was promoted and served as an account manager for the Talent Development division, where she oversaw 30+ U.S. hospital partnerships and provided tailored, consultative support to healthcare executives and leadership teams.
Ruth graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration from The College of William and Mary, where she majored in Marketing and Entrepreneurship, and minored in Music. Ruth has been living in the DC metropolitan area since January 2010 and continues to enjoy everything the district has to offer. Ruth originally hails from Chesapeake, VA, where she enjoys going to the beach and playing tennis during the summer months. In her free time, she enjoys running in races throughout the Hampton Roads and DC metro area, as well as volunteering in Arlington County.
