Sophia Yolanda Teie is the Market Research Coordinator at The Mellman Group. She is a member of the fielding team and works directly with the Vice President of Operations. She is responsible for providing research and fielding support, as well as overseeing and scheduling all domestic and international projects. Sophia works closely with the staff and external teams to supervise and ensure the accuracy of The Mellman Group’s qualitative and quantitative research studies. Sophia serves as a main point of contact for focus group studies and dial tests; she coordinates logistics and monitors recruiting activities. Additionally, Sophia handles some administrative and budgetary duties, which includes compiling bids, submitting invoices, and helping with pricing inquiries.
Before joining The Mellman Group, Sophia spent two years working at Rescue Social Change Group, a public-health marketing agency in Washington, D.C. She served in the Research Department where she contributed in the development and implementation of custom research projects for public health clients nationwide, including local, state, and federal government organizations as well as not-for-profits, schools, and foundations. Before working at Rescue SCG, Sophia co-led the design and management of evidence-based behavioral curriculums to reduce bullying behavior and enhance school climate in elementary and middle schools nationwide. From there, Sophia was contracted to incorporate the behavioral and psychological science of the bullying intervention framework into the development of a national school resource officer training curriculum for a grant awarded by the US Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.
Sophia graduated from Virginia Tech with Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Sociology, with a concentration in Crime & Deviance.
